Jie Luo, PhD
Assistant Professor
Department of Industrial and Molecular Pharmaceutics
Jie Luo is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy at Purdue University. His research focuses on developing advanced whole-body imaging techniques to establish the connection between physiology and pharmacology, thereby identifying new therapeutic targets. Luo received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Biology from the University of Munich under Prof. Ernst Wagner. Before joining Purdue University, Luo conducted postdoctoral research at Helmholtz Center Munich with Prof. Ali Ertürk, developing Whole-Body Imaging Using Antibody Labeling (wildDISCO) and Imaging of Nanocarriers Across Entire Mouse Bodies at Single-Cell Resolution (SCP-Nano).
Research Interests
We employ advanced whole-body imaging techniques to identify significant tissue areas. Using single-cell omics techniques, we aim to discover new targets for specific disease models.
1. Developing New Whole-body Clearing Techniques
2. New Targeted Formulations
3. Connections Between the Pharmacology and Physiological Systems in Disease
